Villa San Maurice wines exist because Angelo Pera wanted to showcase the quality of premium California grapes, most of which are going into wines with Napa Valley, Monterey County or Central Coast appellations on the label. His goal has always been to produce honest, accessible wines that emphasize the characteristics of the varietals and enhance the unique qualities of the viticultural area from which they are grown.

Central Coast Pinot Noir, 2016

Tasting Notes:

Pinot Noir put Villa San Maurice on the map in 2001 when we introduced our first vintage to rave reviews. There is a hint of oak in the finish which complements the crisp acid balance and moderate tannin. The wine was aged 8 months in 60-gallon American oak barrels. This wine shows beautifully now and will continue to develop over the next 3-5 years.
